The album will be released on 6 October 2008 worldwide and October 7, 2008 in the United States.

Oasis is back once again to prove that they are not just only the biggest British band of the past decade, but will remind the world that they are and will be around for the next decade putting out another great rock record, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ offers a musical oasis for rock fans everywhere!

The group’s first album since 2005’s ‘Don’t Believe The Truth‘, ‘Dig Out Your Soul‘ marks a new sound for Oasis.
The album isn’t going to change the world but it shows that one of the best rock bands in the world is capable of creating a sonically diverse album which won’t appease the Oasis-haters, but it will please the fans, the critics and will sell a good few albums.

Though the hallmarks of the Oasis sound remain (Beatles-influenced pop with a classic rock edge), ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ is notable for the more riff-based songwriting style and the mix of authors. Vocalist Liam Gallagher contributes three songs, while his brother and guitarist Noel contributes the majority.

The first single, “The Shock of the Lightning“, was released on 29 September 2008.
In promotion of the album, the band have embarked on a world tour, debuting in Seattle, Washington at the WaMu Theater, and will continue on for months to come.

Oasis have sold more than 50 million records worldwide, and have had eight UK number-one singles.
